The prophet Isaiah recognized Jesus as Prince of Peace 700 years before God sent him to be our Messiah. In Isaiah’s day war seemed imminent, and uncertainty festered in the hearts of the people. Today is not much different, but Jesus, who is our Prince of Peace, calms our hearts and gives us assurance.
God sent Jesus into the world to redeem, to save mankind. As we allow Jesus to redeem us, he becomes our Prince of Peace, which seems incomprehensible, but we know we’re being rescued as we receive his joy and peace. “Joy to the world the Lord is come!” Let us praise God for this Christmas Day. Merry Christmas! May God bless you.
For unto us a child is
born, unto us a Son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder.
These will be his royal titles: … “The Prince of Peace.”
