What Have You Gained from Worrying?

Do you believe that some human beings have the tendency to worry their lives away, fearing the future or dreading the consequences of their past behavior? Some worry because their imaginations are fixated on negative thoughts.

So what is an alternative to worrying? Ask yourself: “What is the worst possible thing that could happen? What can I do to cope with these problems productively, and who can help me today?” First, get the facts by asking instructive questions to discover if your worrying has a realistic basis.

The crucial question is, “Do I have control over the object of my worry?” If not, be willing to turn the problem over to others who can be more objective. Then emotionally and physically let go of the issue so God can do his part to help you.

Ask God for faith to trust his ability and wisdom to solve your problems. Pray until you feel safe in God’s protection and care for you.

_________

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he might exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Can Unhappiness Ever Be Beneficial?

The majority of people accept the fact that happiness cannot be permanently sustained. Happiness is dependent on too many variables and evaporates if our expectations fail or when we’re confronted with disappointment. Can unhappiness be healthy or beneficial?

Unhappiness can bring together the power and strength of your soul and spirit to discover solutions made available by the Holy Spirit. Conflict that exists in a relationship or within oneself can be resolved if you seek God himself with all your heart. This will restore peace between you and God by creating a climate for healthy change.

While God does not prevent unhappiness from being intrusive, he never intended for it to be permanent. Jesus said, "I am the light of the world and in me there is no darkness." This means that problems and troubles will show up, but the light that Jesus is will be your guide and hope for managing any darkness that’s trying to create unhappiness. God bless you.

So humble yourselves under God’s strong hand, and in his own good time he will lift you up. You can throw the whole weight of your anxieties upon him, for you are his personal concern.

Weighted Down with Anxieties? Wait on God

How conflict is managed, whether interpersonal or internal, is directly related to each person’s maturity level. Our emotions and thoughts have a significant bearing on how conflict is resolved. Internal conflict can produce feelings of being pulled in opposite directions simultaneously and then can become increasingly difficult to tolerate.

The most prominent feeling accompanying internal conflict is anxiety, indicating lack of clarity on how to proceed. Internal conflict is capable of producing fear and doubt or even guilt. If a person is given to demanding instant gratification, feelings of anxiety, fear and guilt can make attempts at self-restraint useless.

However, the more emotionally and spiritually mature we become, the more capable we are for managing conflict from any source. As we wait and endure, instead of acting impulsively, we become more capable of understanding God’s purpose for us. Jesus encouraged his disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit’s presence to empower them for God’s purpose.
